About

Please help to sponsor your favorite TSP student and join us in raising funds for an important cause!

At Theatre South Playhouse, we believe that when students are inspired by working with diverse professional artists, anything is possible. But, we need YOUR help.

This upcoming January, in alliance with our professional production of the musical The Prom, Theatre South Playhouse is hosting a "Prom-A-Thon" dance off fundraiser to ensure that we can continue to provide our students with access to these incredible professionals, and support the growth of their involvement in professional theatre.

Our overall fundraising goal is $25,000, but any amount will help your student towards their professional goal. And, as a bonus, whoever raises the most funds will win the opportunity to perform in a walk-on role in the Orlando Professional Premiere of the muscial, The Prom!

Your TSP student thanks you for helping them get to the DANCE-OFF!

How are funds used?

Your generous support of Theatre South’s fundraiser will help us continue to provide quality education to Orlando’s creative youths by directly contributing to our scholarship fund as well as ensuring the ability to continue to provide quality professional training and shows to the greater Orlando area. Typically, in order to participate in our programming, students are required to pay a fee so that the theater is able to cover the costs in order to produce a show. Such fees cover the extension of the production costs - from the show rights and production team fees to costumes and set design to lighting and sound, among other expenses. However, the majority of Theatre South families are in need of financial aid to help pay for training, which is where the scholarship fund comes into play. Through the fund, we are able to provide quality training to more students without the constraint of a production fee. In addition, having additional funds available would allow us to conduct more outreach to underserved students to participate in our program. There are many young people with performing arts dreams for whom participating in a production is out of reach. If Theatre South had the means to reach out to these communities and provide creative opportunities through our programming, we could bring theater arts to more of Orlando’s creative youths. Lastly, funds will be distributed among a variety of projects - both training and professional - to ensure the ability to continue to provide access to diverse, professional teaching artists and show teams, leading to the highest quality of training for our students.
